Zende
is so unique for his style, mostly based on his Persian
origins, which because intensely present in his work of
art, shows his feelings of missing his country, being
an exiled artist. His Painting is an open window on his
life. The history of Persia, and its being invaded and
destroyed, every aspects of its fortunes and misfortunes
appear in Zende’s pieces, letting him go back to
his roots, live a virtual rebirth, make a never lasting
pilgrimage, and live an endless cycle of flying away and
returning to the nest.
The
way Zende uses calligraphy is to emphasize the shapes
and the lines.
Although
it may seem to the neophyte that his writing has a meaning,
it is a senseless scripture, a physical accomplishment
and exercise of writing, free from the strict laws of
Persian calligraphy.
